The COVID- 19 pandemic required more innovation and speed in banking and payments. Halkbank needed a solution that enabled contactless payment with a mobile device, instead of using cash.
Mobile wallets have become an essential payment product for consumers. They offer contactless payment with debit and credit cards at the POS.
Netcetera created a modern and contactless mobile wallet payment solution for Halkbank customers, available in four different languages. It is the first digital wallet implementation in North Macedonia to use the Consumer Device Cardholder Verification Method (CDCVM), based on Netcetera’s white-label wallet from their ToPay product suite.
The HalkPay mobile application is available for every customer with an active Mastercard or Visa card issued by Halkbank. By downloading the HalkPay application, the user digitizes the card and can start using the mobile device as a payment method. In addition, the Halkpay customer can authenticate via the mobile device using biometric authentication methods without entering a PIN on the POS terminal.
